PTI MNAs to appear before NA Speaker on October 29

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNAs will appear before the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on October 29 for verification of their resignations.

The decision was taken during PTI’s core committee meeting held with party Chairman Imran Khan in the chair in Islamabad on Saturday.

Earlier on Friday, the speaker National Assembly has asked PTI members to appear before him on Wednesday next at 2.00 pm for verification of their resignations.

In a notice to the PTI members of the National Assembly, he said that they may come on the same day but the verification of resignations will be carried out individually. He said that this is requirement of the law to determine that each resignation is voluntary and genuine.

The speaker informed them that in case a member does not appear before him on the given date and time, it will be presumed that the member is not willing to go through the legal and transparent process of verification of resignation.
