PTI fails to prove rigging in 2013 general elections: PML-N

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As the Judicial Commission continues its investigation into alleged rigging in 2013 general elections, the ruling Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders have claimed that Imran Khan-led party has failed to produce any evidence of organized rigging before the commission.

Last month, a three-member Judicial Commission headed by the Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk and comprising Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan was formed to probe rigging May 2013 general elections, an allegation leveled by almost all political parties especial the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Talking to media representatives in Islamabad on Friday, the Federal Minister of State for IT Anusha Rehman said that a non-governmental organisation Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) thoroughly analyzed the election results and endorsed the results as accurate.

The minister said that the PTI should now review its stand on electoral rigging and openly accept its defeat in the general elections. She said that the PTI is only misleading the nation on the issue of election rigging.

Separately, the PML-N leader Talal Chaudhry said while talking to the media persons in Islamabad said that the witnesses appeared so far before the judicial commission have negated the allegations of Imran Khan about electoral rigging.

Talal Chaudhry said that lies of Imran Khan stand exposed before the masses. He said that the testimony of the Chairman National Database and Regulatory Authority (NADRA) Usman Mubeen Yousaf before the commission has cleared many things.
