ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to launch the “Corona Relief Tigers Force” as the Country battles with the fast-growing Coronavirus (COVID-19).

While interacting with media representatives in Islamabad on Friday, the prime minister said that the youth from throughout the Country will get themselves registered in the Citizen Portal from March 31.

The prime minister said that the “Corona Relief Tigers Force” will deliver food to poor people on doorsteps and will engage in other relief activities too.

“The Corona Tigers Force will be responsible for the delivery of food to the people across the Country so that distribution of food can be carried out in the smoothest & most efficient manner without any shortcomings,” the prime minister said.

Imran Khan also announced to establish the Corona Relief Fund in which the well-off people will deposit an amount as per their financial capacity to be distributed among the Underprivileged Community.

In addition, the Overseas Pakistanis will also be asked to deposits dollars in a nominated account at the State Bank of Pakistan aimed at increasing Pakistan’s foreign reserves.

The prime minister also said that it has been decided that all goods transport would remain exempted from any restrictions across the Country while the food manufacturing factories would not be shut down as well.

Earlier a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad decided not to increase gas prices to facilitate the consumers.

Talking to media after the meeting, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the prime minister directed the Minister for Energy to chalk out a comprehensive mechanism for bringing out institutional reforms in the gas sector.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the industrial sector will be supplied gas through LNG and other sources. She said that the prime minister also emphasized to work on alternative means and methods for ensuring uninterrupted supply of gas to people in the rural areas.
