Just a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated a mobile App “Pakistan Citizens’ Portal” aimed at enabling the citizens to have a say in the government affairs, a number of people have already downloaded the App on their mobiles.
What is Pakistan Citizens Portal?

“Pakistan Citizens’ Portal” is a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s innovative program through which at least 382,000 complaints relating to government departments could be registered at the same time.
How to use Pakistan Citizen Portal?

The portal will function under the Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit (PMDU). Its key areas include facilitation to Pakistani citizens, overseas Pakistanis and foreigners, facilitation and coordination for parliamentarians, and prime minister’s directives/task management system.

“Pakistan Citizen Portal is an integrated citizens’ grievance redressal system connecting all government organizations both at federal & provincial levels. The system will serve as a carrier of complaints to their respective offices across Pakistan. Eventually, citizen feedback will be linked to an officer’s performance & promotion. The App will serve as a complementary channel between citizen and government,” states the App about itself.

How to register on Pakistan Citizen Portal?

So anyone who wants to lodge his/complaint will have to download “Pakistan Citizens’ Portal” from google play store on android phones. Afterward, he/she has to complete the registration process before accessing App’s various tools and pages. The registration process includes the provision of very basic information i.e. name, CNIC number, date of birth, and place of residence, etc.

Once you get registered, a person would then be able to lodge complaints that would automatically be directed towards the heads of relevant government departments.

The App also allows a complainer to give his/her feedback or rate the complaint resolution. You can download the mobile App “Pakistan Citizens’ Portal here.

Public Opinion

The public is giving positive feedback so far and this is the first some that such an application has been introduced in Pakistan but the success rate of the program depends upon the handling of the complaints and response time.

News Update. So far 101,171 Complaints have been lodged via Pakistan Citizens’ Portal out of which16,770 were resolved and 40% of people satisfied with Pakistan Citizen Portal
