ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The all-important meeting of Parliamentary leaders is in progress in Islamabad on Monday with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the Chair to discuss the latest situation at the Line of Control (LoC).

During the meeting, the prime minister will take the political leaders into confidence about the developing situation at the eastern border in the wake of blistering statements from the Indian leadership.

The meeting will be briefed by the Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry about the latest situation in the occupied Kashmir. It will evolve a joint response on Occupied Kashmir and the latest situation along the line of control.

All the political parties in the parliament are attending the meeting giving the message that the entire nation is united when it comes to the defense and integrity of country.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) delegation is being led by its Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Shireen Mazari are representing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) while Maulana Fazlur Rehman is taking part in the discussion as head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F).

Earlier, the prime minister received the political leaders on their arrival at the venue of the meeting.

Earlier in the morning, the Indian troops once again resorted to unprovoked shelling across Line of Control (LoC) at Iftikhar Abad sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

However, befitting response from Pakistan army silenced the Indian guns, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
