RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has held a meeting with the Italian Army Chief Lieutenant General Danilo Errico at the Italy’s Army Headquarters on Tuesday, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the ISPR said that during the meeting, the two army chiefs held a discussion over matters pertaining to military to military relations, enhancing cooperation, defense collaboration and training.
The Italian army chief thanked the Pakistan army for its sacrifices and role in securing the region.
Earlier when the COAS arrived at the Italy’s Army Headquarters, he was presented guard of honor by a smartly turned out contingent of the Italian army.
The COAS also met the Italian Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Claudio Graziano and discussed the regional security and defense collaboration.
“Pak Army has lot to offer to other Armies,” General Raheel Sharif told General Claudio Graziano.
The CDF Italian Armed Forces appreciated Pakistan’s success and expertise in fighting terrorism.
“We see Pakistan Army with respect and admiration,” General Claudio Graziano said. He also vowed to eliminate terrorism together.
General Raheel is currently on a three-day visit to Italy. During his visit, he would hold a number of meetings with the Italian political and military leadership to promote bilateral relations in the defense field.
