ISLAMABAD:Talks between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have begun in Islamabad.

Pakistani delegation is being led by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar while the IMF delegation by Jeffery Frank.

Both sides are talking to provide loan on easy terms to Pakistan to improve its economy. In case of successful dialogue‚ Pakistan could get three to five billion dollars in loan from IMF as bailout package.

Sources said that Islamabad seeks loan on easy installments and if the IMF demanded increase in gas and power tariff after every three months Pakistan would drop the plan to borrow loan.

The sources further said if Pakistan fails to get loan from IMF, it would seek letter of comfort for holding dialogue with Asian Development Bank and World Bank.

The IMF delegation will also review the economic performance of Pakistan.
