ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesman told weekly briefing in Islamabad today that drone strikes are violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry has said  Pakistan has emphatically conveyed to the United States its concerns on drone strikes.

In his weekly news briefing in Islamabad today‚ he said Pakistan has raised the issue of drone attacks at different world forums including the United Nations Human Rights Council.

He said we will continue to raise this issue with the US officials at the appropriate forums.

When asked about the recent drone strikes in Pakistan‚ the spokesperson said that the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi on the directive of the prime minister summoned the US Charge D’Affairs to the foreign office and lodged a strong protest.

He said the drone strikes are in violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and the international laws.
