RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani said on Monday that peace should be given a chance through the political process‚ however‚ we will not accept the pre-conditions for talks set by the terrorists.
In a statement issued on Monday, the army chief said that Pakistan Army had the capability and determination to fight terrorists and those responsible for the killing of officers would be brought to justice.
Kayani said that terrorists will not be allowed to impose their agenda on the nation and war on terror will be taken to the logical conclusion.
The army chief further said that terrorists will not be allowed to take advantage of the reconciliation.
On Sunday, a roadside bomb attack killed Pakistan’s two senior military officers including Major General Sanaullah Niazi and Lieutenant Colonel Touseef and a soldier in the country’s troubled northwest.
The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) accepted responsibility for the attack that took place in the Upper Dir district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
