QUETTA, Pakistan: The Chairman Islamic Ideological Council (IIC) Maulana Muhammad Khan Shirani Wednesday said there should be no difference between good and bad militants, saying the authorities would have to take strict measures to rid the country of militancy and terrorism.
While addressing public meetings in Quetta, Toba Achakzai and Toba Kakari organized by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Maulana Shirani said that thousands of people had been killed in acts of terrorism during last few years.
“Innocent people were killed in Quetta civil hospital suicide blast and bodies of lawyers were sent to their native areas from Zhob to Gwadar,” he said.
The ICC Chairman stressed the need to promote culture of harmony and tolerance, especially religious harmony to make our society peaceful.
“Extremism and terrorism damaged peace of the country and it is need of hour to control them on war footing basis,” he said.
Maulana Shirani demanded opening of Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate in border town of Chaman, saying thousands of people were suffering due to closure of the border.
“Traders of both countries have also been suffering losses in millions of rupees due to close of border,” he said.
