ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rasheed on Wednesday said the entire nation will not rest till the elimination of last terrorist.

As the nation commemorates the first martyrdom anniversary of innocent children who fell victims to a cowardly attack and brutal massacre at the hands of terrorists at Peshawar, “We pledge that we will not rest until we eliminate the menace of terrorism and extremism from the face of Pakistan,” he said in a message received here from Russia on Wednesday. The minister is currently on an official visit to Russia (St. Petersburg).

Senator Pervaiz Rasheed said no words can express the grief and pain that has struck the parents and families of these innocent children.

“Our children are our future and we will not allow anyone to play with them”, he said.

Terming December 16 as a black day in the history of Pakistan, the minister paid tributes to the nation the way it rose to the occasion, forgot its differences and demonstrated unprecedented unity to fight evil of terrorism.

“Pakistani nation thus sent a loud and clear message to the entire world that terrorists have no place in our society, culture or religion.”

Terrorists, he said, neither represent any religion, nor any ideology and are stigma on the face of mankind.

Senator Pervaiz Rasheed said all the political parties of the country shunned their differences and unanimously agreed on a 20-point National Action Plan (NAP) to fight terrorism which is second greatest achievement after the 1973 Constitution.

Paying tributes to the nation for its support and unprecedented unity, Pervaiz Rashid said the valiant Armed Forces and law enforcing agencies have succeeded in breaking the network of terrorists and their leadership is on the run, “but this should not make us complacent.”

He urged the nation to maintain unity among its ranks in the face of an enemy which is unscrupulous, faceless and nameless.
