Islamabad: Labour Day popularly known as May Day is being celebrated all over the world in the memories of those who fought for the right of workers. This Labour Day observed stiff tension in Turkey where protesters are demanding better working conditions for working class and Turkish police used power to disperse protesters at Taksim Square Istanbul on May Day.
Thousands rally around the globe to celebrate May Day, the largest labor holiday in the world. Amid heavy police presence, many are gathering to protest against the harsh austerity measures that have seen many Europeans mired in poverty and need.

RT reports that over 27,000 people have taken part in the May Day rally in the Japanese capital Tokyo. The protesters demanded to increase the salaries and to tackle the job shortage issues.
