Load shedding to be overcome in three years: PM Nawaz

MADINA, Saudi Arabia: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed hope that load shedding would be overcome during next three years before completion of tenure of the present government.

In his address to the Pakistani community in Madina, the prime minister said that the country is facing huge challenges like economy, terrorism and energy crisis.

The prime minister said that his government has taken bold decisions to curb terrorism. He said that the military operation Zarb-e-Azb against various banned militant outfits will continue till the elimination of last terrorist.

Sharif said that law and order situation in Karachi is improving due to effective measure taken by the government. He said that attempts to deteriorate law and order in the country will not be tolerated.

The premier said that foreign exchange reserves of the country have crossed $11 billion in 20 months. He said that transparency is ensured at all levels and all decisions are being taken on merit to ensure rule of law.

Talking about the recent Senate elections, the prime minister said that with the holding of Senate elections another phase of democratic process has been completed.

Nawaz Sharif said that his government believes in strengthening and ensuring the sanctity of the democratic institutions.

The prime minister said that 2018 would be the year of elections of both National Assembly and Senate for which the government would introduce election reforms in cooperation with all parties.
