ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar has given directions to investigate the individuals and companies named by a section of media in the Bahama Leaks.

In a meeting with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) team in Islamabad on Thursday, the minister ordered for immediate action under the due process of law and issued similar instructions for Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and State Bank of Pakistan.

The finance minister said that non-discriminatory action will be taken according to law and no one will be dealt with any grudge or prejudice.

Earlier on Wednesday, more leaked documents emerged, carrying the names of 150 Pakistanis who own companies in the Bahamas.

In a statement, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) said that new “revelations” revealed fresh information about offshore companies in the Bahamas.

Difference media sources shared a brief detail according to which, about 150 Pakistanis have been identified as directors of nearly 70 companies, out of 175,000 firms incorporated in the Bahamas between 1959 and 2016.

Former Jamaat-i-Islami senator Professor Khursheed Ahmad, Samina Durrani, Obaid Altaf Khanani, Karachi-based builder Mohsin Sheikhani and , son of former federal minister Mohammad Naseer Khan, has been named in the ‘Bahamas are a few notables among the Pakistanis whose names have been mentioned in ‘Bahamas leaks’.

Earlier in May 2016, names of 259 Pakistanis including children of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif surfaced in Panama Papers, as having offshore companies.
