ISAF Commander meets COAS, CJCSC

RAWALPINDI: NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) commander in Afghanistan General Joseph F Dunford held a meeting with Pakistan’s army chief General Raheel Sharif at army’s General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Monday.

In a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two discussed matters of mutual interest with particular focus on Pakistan-Afghanistan Border coordination mechanism.

Both sides agreed on improving communications over both sides of the border.

The statement further said that the ISAF commander along with commander of the Office of the Defense Representative Pakistan (ODRP) Lieutenant General Gregory A Biscone also called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Rashad Mahmood.

General Joseph F Dunford remained with the CJCSC for some time and discussed matters related to mutual interest.
