ISLAMABAD: The Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan TCA Raghavan on Friday expressed hope for improvement of relations between Pakistan and India in political, economic and diplomatic spheres with the formation of the new government in New Delhi.

Talking to media representatives in Islamabad on Friday, the Indian High Commissioner expressed confidence that the new government in India will make sincere efforts to improve ties with Pakistan.

Raghavan also hoped that dialogue process between the two countries will also resume very soon after formation of the next government.

On the other hand, according to Indian elections results, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Narendra Modi is all set to become the country’s next prime minister with his party likely to get a majority on its own.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif telephoned the BJP leader Narendra Modi and congratulated him over his and his party’s victory in the Indian general elections.

“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also wished that BJP’s victory would promote peace and stability to the region,” the advisor to the prime minister on foreign affairs and national security Sartaj Aziz said.
