Government of PakistanImran Khan has become a risk to national stability: Saad Rafique

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Thursday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s steps had put at risk the democracy, stability, and independent working of institutions in the country.

While addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday evening, the minister said that PTI must realize that vote was the only way to bring change of government in the country.

The minister said that Imran Khan had crossed all limits of political norms and ethics, adding that some people were in hurry to come into power.

Saad Rafique assured the federal government will perform its legal duty of maintaining law and order in Islamabad and ensure provision of the basic citizen rights to the residents.

“The government is responsible for keeping routine life open,” the minister said.

Earlier in the day, the PTI Chairman Imran Khan told media representatives in Islamabad that Islamabad protest would be held at any cost on November 2, saying protest was their legal and constitutional right.

“No power or deception can stop us from holding a sit-in in Islamabad,” Imran said hours after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued restraining orders to the PTI from locking down the Federal Capital.

Separately, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also presided over an important meeting to discuss matters regarding IHC verdict and PTI possible strategy. The Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for SAFRON Abdul Qadir Baloch and other senior leaders took part in the meeting.
