AMMAN, Jordan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif arrived in Jordan for a two days official visit and held separate meetings with the Jordanian military leadership.

Upon his arrival at Jordan, the COAS was given unprecedented reception and was received by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces General Mashal Al-Zaben and Chief of Royal Jordanian Air Force Major General Mansour AlJobour.

Later, COAS met His Royal Highness Prince Al-Hassan bin Talal and also called on Chief of Royal Jordanian Air Force Major General Mansour AlJobour.

The COAS also held separate meetings with Chairman Joint chief of Staff of the Jordanian Armed forces General Mashal Al-Zaben and His Royal Highness Lt General Prince feisal Bin El Hussein.

During the meetings regional security, military to military relations, matter of mutual interest including enhanced Pakistan-Jordan defence collaboration and military training exchanges were discussed.

Later in an exclusive ceremony, General Raheel Sharif was awarded the most prestigious Jordanian medal of merit for displaying remarkable courage in leading Pakistan Army in the face of multiple threats specially the menace of terrorism, and above all for his great efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
