ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a symbol of all-weather friendship between both the countries.

In a meeting with the Chairman Shandong Hi- Speed Group Ltd Sun Liang in Islamabad on Wednesday the prime minister said that the CPEC is not only a road and rail network but also includes investments in trade, energy, transport, infrastructure and industrial estates.

Warmly greeting the Chairman Shandong Group, the premier appreciated his interest to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan.

The prime minster invited Shandong Group to invest in various projects especially in road, rail, power, dams, pipelines, airports and the financial sectors of Pakistan.

“We will provide all possible help to your investment plans,” Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Sharif said that government’s economic team has worked assiduously during the last three years to achieve the economic turn-around which is being well acknowledged by all the international institutions.

The prime minister said that gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of our economy is rising and Inflation has been brought down to single digit. He added that the stock exchange has shown considerable increase and foreign currency reserves are highest in history.

In his remarks, Sun Liang greatly appreciated the economic policies of the government and attributed the Pakistan’s economic turnaround to the sound economic vision of the prime minister and strict financial discipline of the government.

Sun Liang expressed keen interest to explore new opportunities to invest in Pakistan.
