Coronavirus Cases in Pakistan soar to 2450

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: More people have been diagnosed with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout Pakistan especially in Punjab; therefore, the number of infected patients in the Country has reached 2,450.

The death tally has also soared to 35. However, 126 Coronavirus patients have now been tested negative.

In recent hours, more Coronavirus Cases were detected in Punjab after which, the number of patients in the province has reached 920, and 11 of them have died of the disease.

In Sindh, 783 Coronavirus Cases have so far been confirmed, 331 Cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 169 in Balochistan, 68 in Islamabad, 190 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 9 in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK).

Meanwhile, in a statement on April 1, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr. Zafar Mirza said that the government is ensuring effective steps on an emergency basis for safety from Coronavirus.

Dr. Zafar Mirza said that a 30-bed facility for Coronavirus patients is available at PIMS Islamabad and another 80 beds will be added to the hospital in the next 15 days.

The Special Assistant said that 12 beds each have been allocated for Coronavirus patients at Polyclinic Hospital and Capital Hospital Islamabad while the Federal General Hospital Chak Shahzad is being specified for Coronavirus.

Dr. Zafar Mirza said that quarantine facility has been established at various buildings and isolation rooms have also been arranged at different private hospitals in the Federal Capital as well.
