ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi has underscored the need to further develop the relations between Pakistan and Myanmar given their potential.

In a meeting with the Ambassador of Myanmar Win Naing who paid a farewell call on him at the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Monday, the special assistant appreciated the positive contribution of the ambassador Win Naing to the development of Pakistan-Myanmar relations.

Tariq Fatemi also wished Win Naing success in his future assignments and said thatt he was looking forward to working with his successor for further broadening of Pakistan-Myanmar relations.

The Pakistan-Myanmar diplomatic relations are one of the oldest relations for Pakistan dating back to 1947.

The ambassador Win Naing highlighted democratic transition in Myanmar and the progress made since then.
