ZAVIA under Umer Hameed’s production and Gurmani Centre for Languages & Literature has entered into an agreement for a 10-day theatrical performance by students of LUMS at AlHamra Arts Council on 19th March to 31st March 2014.
The MOU was signed by Vice Chancellor LUMS, Dr. Sohail Naqvi and Production Head of ZAVIA, Umer Hameed on January 7, 2014. The play titled Twinkle Twinkle Main Ban Gayā Star is written by Shariq Thara, a sophomore at LUMS and will also be directed by him.
The media production company ZAVIA is a sister concern of Hazār Dāstān and has to its credit the production of several, very popular and successful theatrical plays including Sabz, Bombay Dreams, Moulin Rouge and Phantom of the Opera,among all these plays Sabz got the atmost popularitry and a great success that outshined all the other theater concepts.
The Gurmani Centre also staged an Urdu play called Shādī kē tīs sāl bʿād in April 2013, which was a resounding success. It was performed for three consecutive days in LUMS.
Now for the very first time in history these both production companies are coming together to present the most entertaing play equiped with glamour,dance,comedy and a heart wrenching lesson aswell.
