The 18th death anniversary of Pakistani pop singer-song writer and social activist Nazia Hassan was observed on Monday.

Nazia Hassan passed away on August 13, 2000 in London following a prolonged battle with lung cancer when she was just 35 years old.

Born on April 3, 1965 in Karachi, Nazia Hassan is best known for her award winning song “Aap Jaisa koi”. She started her career at the age of 10 and became one of the most famous female singers in Pakistan and India.

Nazia Hassan was the first Pakistani female singer who won the Film fare Award.
