Meera video scandal case: Court orders registration of case against Meera, captain Naveed

LAHORE: Over charges of filming and uploading on social media a controversial video clip, a sessions court in Lahore on Monday directed the police to register cases against actress Meera and captain Naveed as well as to take strict action against them.

The orders were issued by the additional district and sessions judge Safdar Ali Bhatti during the hearing of a petition filed against the actress Meera and captain Naveed. The petitioner had claimed that the controversial video of the couple which was leaked out and posted on the internet had brought disrepute to the nation.

During today’s hearing, the couple failed to appear before the court for the hearing despite earlier summons issued by the court. Owing to their absence, the court ordered the registration of cases at Lahore’s Mozang police station and instructed for strict action to be taken against the two.

The court also directed police to inform it once the cases were registered.
