ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Starring Nadeem, Shabnam and Ejaz Akhtar among others, Urdu feature film “Qurbani (1981)” will be screened by Lok Virsa Mandwa Film Club at its Media Center in Islamabad at 03:00 pm on January 12.

“Qurbani” is a directorial venture of Pervez Malik featuring popular music by M. Ashraf. “Mera Tujh se Aisa Bandhan Hai” is a most popular song from “Qurbani”.

Songs of the film are recorded in the voices of Mehnaz, Naheed Akhtar, and Ghulam Abbas.

Bringing nostalgia from a more recent past than most of Mandwa’s screenings, the film is a social drama highly reminiscent of final golden moments of Urdu cinema, and the social values of Pakistani society before this form of cinema ceased to exist in late 80s and early 90s.
