KARTARPUR, Pakistan: The renowned Indian Punjabi actor, singer, film director and producer Gippy Grewal on Monday visited Pakistan to pay reverence to Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Kartarpur.

The 37-year-old Indian actor was welcomed by the Punjab government when he arrived along with a delegation through Wagah border and was presented a bouquet of flowers.

The Spokesperson of Punjab Government Musarrat Jamshed Cheema met the visiting Indian Celebrity and welcomed him on the behalf of the provincial government.

Talking to the media, Gippy Grewal said that they had long been planning to visit Pakistan. He said that they had to visit the holy shrine of Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, and once the Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji had bestowed his blessings upon them, their visit to Pakistan became a reality.

“I am very happy to be here,” the actor said.

The actor said that they have great feelings to visit Pakistan, and meet their own people and brothers.

Gippy Grewal also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfi Bukhari for making the arrangements and made their visit possible.

The Kartarpur Corridor was opened on November 9, 2019 by Prime Minister Imran Khan in connection with the 550th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji, paving the way for the Members of the Sikh Community from across the border to visit one of their holiest places in Pakistan.

Earlier the former cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu and the actor Sunny Deol among other notables from neighboring India also visited Kartarpur Sahib and attended the Kartarpur Corridor Opening Ceremony.
