“Ghoom Charakhra” featuring the queen of sufi music “Abida Parveen” and rockstar “Ali Azmat” has finally out on Friday (August 17, 2018). “Ghoom Charakha” is the fourth track of Coke Studio episode 2 season 11. After the release of Behind the Scenes (BTS), people had been eagerly waiting for two powerhouses performing on one platform.

The track is previously sang by Abida Parveen and considered to be the most popular Sindhi sufi song which has mesmerized people for decades. “Ghoom Charakhra” is based on Tassawuf (God’s pain) and is composed with such intensity which pulls the audience towards itself.

The combination of two powerful voices and strong melody made a huge influence on audience and mehfil (Gathering) itself became Kalam (word of God). “Charakhra” is basically a symbol which is used by Sufis to remind mankind of humanity. The sturdy rendition and shredded voice of Abida Parveen and Ali Azmat has heated up the platform.

Abida Parveen is best known for her exceptional tracks Jab Se Tune Mujhe Dewana written by Nasir Kazmi, Tere Ishq Nachaya by Bulleh Shah, Meda Ishq Bhi Tu, Dhondo Ge Agar Mulkon Mulkon, Zahid Ne Mera Hasil-e-Emaan, Bekhudi Besabab and many others. She has been awarded with various noble prizes.

Multi-talented Pakistani singer, songwriter and musician Ali Azmat is best known for his lead singing for Sufi Rock Band “Junoon”. He got Bollywood fame when his solo track “Garaj Baras” from junoon’s album Azadi was picturized for Bollywood film “Paap”.
