Coke Studio 11 Episode 8 Track “Wah Jo Kalaam” is a perfect acoustic aims to capture the feel of Sindhi soulful folk recorded in the voice of Shamu Bai, Vishnu along with Asrar.
The beginning chords of the track establishes the true Sindhi vibe précising the traditional feel of devotional music. The high notes and captivating voice of Asrar accompanying by powerful vocals of Shamu Bai and Vishnu holds the listener’s attention.
The whole melody is fascinating and gives the feeling of peace and excitement.
Shamu Bai and her brother Vishnu belong to Hindu minority of rural Sindh. They both are known for their bhajan singing (Religious Practice) among Hindu culture.
Shamu Bai learnt singing from her guru Bhagat Bhoora Lal – famous folk singer, who helped her to develop the unique style of bhajan singing.
They both recorded their song “Pareek” in Coke Studio explorer 2018. While Vishnu became the first artist who participate in Coke Studio at the age of 14.
