Entertainment‘Bullett Raja’ not being released across Pakistan

LAHORE/KARACHI: Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Bollywood movie ‘Bullett Raja’ that was slated to be released on November 29 (today) across Pakistan, is not being released.

The release of the move was stopped after the Lahore High Court (LHC) served contempt of court notice to the Central Board Film Censorship (CBFC) chairman and senior bureaucrat Syed Arshad Ali upon their failure to stop the exhibition of illegal foreign films in Pakistan.

Subsequently, the CBFC refused to censor Bullett Raja.

“I don’t know what has caused the CBFC to refuse to censor Bullett Raja. All I know for certain is that if I release this film in Pakistan, there could be possible legal repercussions,” the CEO of IMGC Entertainment Amjad Rasheed said.

It may by mention here that IMGC Entertainment bought the rights to distribute Bullett Raja in Pakistan.

Rasheed said that the LHC ruling came in response to a petition which was against the import of illegal foreign films.

Whereas, he said, Bullett Raja’s certification is being stopped regardless of the fact that the documents and paperwork regarding its import have been approved.

“I have no other option but to stop the release of Bullett Raja, as nothing is more important than the law of the state and I must abide by it,” Rasheed said.
