By-election in NA-261 to be held in November 8

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday issued the schedule for by-election in NA-261 Pishin-Ziarat, according to which polling in the constituency will be held on November 8.

The ECP said that nomination papers could be filed between September 29 and 30 while scrutiny will be held on October 1 and 2.

It said that after withdrawal process of candidature on October 16, the ECP will display the final list of candidates on October 17 whereas polling will be held on November 8.

The seat became vacant due to disqualification of Maulvi Agha Muhammad of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) by an election tribunal in a fake degree case.
