CAIRO: An administrative court in Egypt has imposed a ban on the Muslim Brotherhood from carrying out all the activities in the country.

In addition, the court also ordered the seizure of Brotherhood’s funds, assets and headquarters.

“The court bans the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood organisation and its non-governmental organisation and all the activities that it participates in and any organisation derived from it,” said the presiding judge Muhammed al-Sayed on Monday.

On the other hand, the army-backed interim government has arrested several Muslim Brotherhood leaders as part of its crackdown against the Islamist group since President Mohamed Morsi was ousted from power on July 3.
