ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The public sector schools for girls working under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) would be provided around 4,000 computers along with latest printers and scanners, the Parliamentary Secretary for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Maiza Hameed told.

Talking to the state-run news agency in Islamabad on Monday, Maiza Hameed said that under Prime Minister Education Reforms Programme, the CADD would provide around 4,000 computers to acquaint girls students of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) with advance technology.

Maiza said ICT girls schools would also be provided furniture and power backup through Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for computers.

The Parliamentary Secretary said under PM Education Reforms Programme, the CADD also planned to facilitate the girl students with latest broadband Internet for three years in FDE schools. For the purpose, she said, a total of 202 teachers would be hired for a period of three years, who would impart computer education to the 110,000 girls’ students.

Separately Advisor PM Education Reforms Programme Ali Raza told the news agency that after executing successfully in the Federal Capital for upgradation of Islamabad’s 22 schools and colleges under Phase I, the project had now been expanded to 200 more ICT schools under Phase-II which would be completed in one month.

Moreover, Ali Raza said the PC-I for phase-III of the program would be finalized in next two months in which remaining 200 ICT schools would be upgraded achieving the task of total 422 schools’ renovation.
