If you don’t hail from a Country whose Citizens enjoy the luxury of driving in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) without applying for or obtaining a driving licence in the Middle Eastern Country, it should not bother you anymore.
There are expats of nearly four dozen Countries who are exempted from taking any driving classes and going through tests to avail a UAE driving licence if they already have a valid driving licence in their home Country.
However, now Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has come up with a new initiative, offering a one-time opportunity to non-exempted expats to apply for a new driving license in the UAE without attending driving classes and get a direct road test.
The new initiative called ‘Golden Chance’ has already gone into effect from April 01, 2023.
إليك فرصتك الذهبية عبر موقع الهيئة الإلكتروني! تقدّم بطلب رخصة قيادة دون حضور دروس القيادة لإجراء اختبار طريق مباشر.

Therefore, now all expats – no matter which Country they belong to – may acquire a UAE driving licence without attending any driving classes and they just need to pass the required tests to stand eligible to become authorized motorists.
