ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Presidential Candidate Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday said after the victory, he would make every effort to resolve issues of the people within the ambit of law.

“I will not be the president of one party but the president of the whole Country,” Arif Alvi said while talking to media representatives in Islamabad wherein the polling began to elect 13th President of Pakistan under the supervision of the Chief Justice Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi.

Dr Arif Alvi said he would try to resolve the issues of water, health and justice. He said every person in the Country would get justice.

The PTI’s Presidential Candidate reiterated that he would not be an inactive president. “I am thankful to Imran Khan for nominating me as the president,” he added.

Meanwhile, the voting process continues in the Parliament House, Punjab Assembly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Sindh Assembly and Balochistan Assembly to elect the Country’s next president through secret ballot.

The voting will continue till 4:00 in the afternoon without any break.

Besides Dr Arif Alvi, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-backed Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Aitzaz Ahsan are in the run for the president.

Talking to media, the Minister for Railways and the Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said Maulana Fazlur Rehman wished to become the president of Pakistan but Allah had given a chance to Dr Arif Alvi.

Sheikh Rasheed said there was a visible difference between the personalities of Mamnoon Hussain and Arif Alvi. He said Pakistan would prioritize its interests at any cost.
