Islamabad, Pakistan: Ukraine offers assistance to Pakistan to overcome its energy crises, reports Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency.

Talking to media, Ambassador of Ukraine to Pakistan, Volodymyr Lakomov was of the view that his country will help Pakistan in the field of energy production. He was optimist that Ukraine and Pakistan will enhance their trade. It may be mentioned that trade between Ukraine and Pakistan is over $500 million a year and both countries have avenues to enhance the trade in near future.

While talking to media, Volodymyr Lakomov appreciated support of Islamabad that Pakistan rendered for elections of Ukraine as non-permanent member of UN Security Council.

He maintained that Ukraine and Pakistan are working for a diplomatic high-level exchange between the two countries this year.

Referring to Crimean crisis, he said that Ukraine wanted to resolve the crises through diplomatic, political and legal means. He informed media that President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in his policy statements on achievements and goals of the country on January 14, said that Ukraine is facing military and economic aggression. President Poroshenko in his statement further indicated that his country was doing excellent at diplomatic horizon and it successfully mustered support of 177 countries to get Security Council seat while all 28 EU members continued sanctions against Russia for its continuous “aggression” against Ukraine and non-fulfillment of the Minsk agreements. The President said Ukraine has achieved energy independence from Russia. Gas needle, which has been holding Ukraine captive for years, has finally vanished.

It may be mentioned that Ukraine strongly condemned acts of terrorism in Pakistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in a statement condemns the series of terrorist acts that took place in Turkey, Cameroon, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Indonesia.
