ISLAMABAD: Four members of a family have died from a dangerous virus called Congo virus in Abbottabad on Sunday.

All the victims, including three brothers and their father, succumbed to the disease within one week after being admitted at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital in the federal capital.

Asif, 32, was the first one to perish. Two days later, his brother, Sheeraz, also died of Congo.

Their father, Yousuf, could not recover and passed away on Saturday. But today, Yousuf’s third son also lost his life.

Relatives of the affected family have called for measures to contain the virus from spreading.
