COAS, CJCSC discuss defence cooperation, regional security with Saudi Crown Prince

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Rashad Mahmood called on Saudi Crown Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz in Islamabad on Monday and discussed issues related to defence cooperation and regional security.

   

The sources said that during the meeting between the COAS and the Saudi Crown Prince, the security situation in the region came under consideration, while the CJCSC in his meeting with Abdul Aziz discussed Saudi-Pak defence and agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

It was also agreed in the meeting that the two countries would share counter-terrorism intelligence whereas a memorandum of understanding (MoU) would be signed in the field of security cooperation.
