China welcomes adoption of anti-terrorism action plan in Pakistan

BEIJING, China: China has said that it is against all forms of terrorism and assured its continued support to Pakistan in fight against terrorism.

“We staunchly support Pakistan in conducing anti-terrorism strategy based on its own realities and welcome the adoption of national anti-terrorism action plan,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a press conference on Friday.

Her statement came when asked to comment on the national action plan against terrorism recently adopted by all Pakistan’s political parties.

The spokesperson said that the Chinese side will continue to help the Pakistani government and its people in their efforts to combat terrorism and safeguard national security to the best of our capacity.

On Wednesday, in an all parties conference held in Islamabad, a 20-point national action plan to counter terrorism and extremism was approved. The action includes among others established of military courts and a special anti-terrorism force.

The conference was held in the aftermath of a deadly terror attack that hit an army-run school in the country’s northwestern Peshawar city that claimed lives of 150 persons mostly school children.
