PakistanChief Justice visits Central Jail in Mianwali

MIANWALI: Chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry visited Central Jail in Mianwali on Sunday.

He inspected various facilities of the jail including kitchen‚ hospital and prisoner wards.

The Chief Justice also visited juvenile and women prisoners section. He listened to the problems of inmates and ordered to resolve these.

On the occasion‚ the Chief Justice ordered to release five prisoners who were unable to pay blood money or diyat. The Chief Justice was informed that an amount of 109800 rupees was recoverable from these prisoners which the jail administration paid on their behalf.

The Chief Justice also ordered to release six more prisoners next week who are unable to pay diyat. Chief Secretary Punjab assured that this amount will be paid soon.
