The Indus Motor Company Limited (IMCL), the manufacturer of Toyota vehicles, has announced the temporary closure of its production plant.
In a letter written by the Indus Motor Company Secretary Muhammad Arif Anzer to the General Manager of the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, it was stated that the production process is being affected due to a shortage of parts required for manufacturing vehicles.
As a result, Toyota’s production operations will remain halted for five days in September 2024.
“The Company (IMCL) is currently experiencing low levels of raw material and component inventory and is facing ongoing supply chain challenges. This has resulted in a shortage of parts and components necessary for vehicle production. As a result, the Company is unable to meet its production requirements.
Consequently, the Company has decided to temporarily suspend operations at its production plant from September 26, 2024, to September 30, 2024, both days inclusive,” read the letter.
