ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of unlawfully incarcerated senior Kashmiri Hurriyat Leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, paid glowing tribute to popular youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani on his 8th martyrdom anniversary and reiterated the resolve that they would continue the struggle of their Kashmiri forefathers, martyrs and ghazis until they broke the shackles of Indian subjugation.

In a video statement on Monday, Mushaal, a former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Human Rights and Women Empowerment said that Kashmiris on both sides of line of control were commemorating Wani’s martyrdom anniversary with renewed commitment and resolve that they would not accept Indian occupation in any circumstances.

She lauded that Burhan Wani’s legacy of resistance against Indian occupation, which injected renewed vigor into the struggle for freedom and ignited a fervent spirit, dedication, perseverance and courage among Kashmiri youth against Indian subjugation that would be written in gold words in the history of Kashmir freedom struggle.

The senior hurriyat highlighted that brutal Indian occupation troops continued their acts of state terrorism with complete impunity, adding that since Wani’s extrajudicial killing on July 8, 2016, they had martyred 1,934 Kashmiris, including 286 in fake encounters and custody, rendering 159 women widowed and 393 children orphaned.

She stated that at least 30,063 people were injured due to the use of brute force, including bullets, pellets, and teargas shells, by Indian military, paramilitary, and police personnel against peaceful demonstrators and mourners in the occupied territory.

Mushaal went on to say that Wani exposed the brutal, fascist face of Indian government, notorious armed forces across the globe, who unleashed a reign of terror on the innocent Kashmir.

However, she made it clear that Kashmir freedom fighters would continue the just Kashmir freedom fight till their last breath and would not accept the Indian slavery come what may.
