Last Friday (June 09), the Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Ishaq Dar unveiled the Federal Budget 2023-24 with an outlay of Rs, 14,460 billion, announcing that no new tax was being imposed and the government was trying to give maximum relief to the people.Mobile phone Prices in Pakistan after Budget 2023-24

Though in the budget for the next Fiscal Year, the federal government announced new revenue measures of Rs 223 billion but retained all taxes introduced in the mini-budget unveiled in mid-February 2023 which included raising the General Sales Tax (GST) from 17% to 18% and imposing a 25% sales tax on luxury item imports etc.

Since all taxes and duties remain the same after the Federal Budget 2023-24; therefore, the current prices of locally assembled and imported mobiles are likely to remain intact.Mobile phone Prices in Pakistan after Budget 2023-24If you are looking to import a mobile phone, you have to pay the following taxes;

  • Provincial Tax = 0.9%
  • IT Duty = 9%
Regulatory Duty
  • US$ 1 to US$ 30 = Rs 180
  • US$ 30 to US$ 100 = Rs. 1,800
  • US$ 100 to US$ 200 = Rs 2,700
  • US$ 200 to US$ 350 = Rs 3,600
  • US$ 350 to US$ 500 = Rs 10,500
  • US$ 500+ = Rs 18,500
Sales Tax
  • US$ 1 to US$ 30 = Rs 150
  • US$ 30 to US$ 100 = Rs 1,470
  • US$ 100 to US$ 200 = Rs 1,870
  • US$ 200 to US$ 350 = Rs 1,930
  • US$ 350 to US$ 500 = Rs 6,000
  • US$ 500+ = Rs 10,300
Withholding Tax
  • US$ 1 to US$ 30 = Rs 70
  • US$ 100 to US$ 200 = Rs 930
  • US$ 200 to US$ 350 = Rs 970
  • US$ 350 to US$ 500 = Rs 3,000
  • US$ 500+ = Rs 5,200
Mobile Levy
  • Rs 10,000 – 40,000 = Rs 1,000
  • Rs 40,000 to 80,000 = Rs 3,000
  • Phones over Rs 80,000 = Rs 5,000
