Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif on July 18, 2023 inaugurated the Online Temporary Mobile Phone Registration System for Overseas Pakistanis and Foreign Nationals, enabling them to avail free registration facility of using their personal mobile device for 120 days on each visit to Pakistan.How Can Overseas Pakistanis & Foreign Nationals Register Their Mobile Phones Without Paying Taxes On Visit To Pakistan?

Now all Overseas Pakistanis and Foreign Nationals visiting Pakistan can register and use their personal mobile phones for up to 120 days (from the date of arrival) on each visit without payment of duties and taxes.

To avail this facility, please provide the following;
  • Passport with valid immigration entry stamp
  • CNIC/NICOP (required for Overseas Pakistanis)
  • Active Pakistani SIM issued in the name of the applicant
  • (The SIM will be paired with the IMEI)
  • IMEI(s) programmed on the Mobile Device
  • Valid email address
  • Date of arrival in Pakistan
  • Intended date of departure

How to Apply for Online for Temporary Mobile Registration System

Step 1: https://dirbs.pta.gov.pk/drs/

Note: This registration link is accessible from within Pakistan. Please register the device once you are in the Country.

Step 2: Click on Sign Up option to ‘Sign Up’ on Account
Step 3: Choose ‘Purpose’ & Select ‘User Type’
Step 4: Fill the Site with your Personal Details along with the Password and Click on Submit
Step 5: You will receive Email or SMS for Verification. Follow the Link on SMS/Mail, and it will activate your Account
Step 6: Visit Portal again (dirbs.pta.gov.pk/drs) again and Login with your Credentials. You will see a Declaration Form, and proceed to agree with the Terms & Conditions. Choose Click on ‘Temporary Registration for Overseas Pakistanis/Foreign Nationals’.
Step 7: Enter your ID Card Number/Passport Number along with Entry Date and Date of Departure.

Then you need to enter number of SIM you will be using of Local Mobile Network Operator. Click on the Undertaking and click on Submit to generate six-digit OTP, which you need to enter in OTP bar located at the bottom.

You (applicant) can check the Status of Device through the Online DIRPS Account at https://dirbs.pta.gov.pk/
