Saudi Arabia offers several visa options for Muslims to make the pilgrimage of Umrah in Makkah.
Here are four of Saudi Visa options available for Muslims from around the world to perform Umrah;
Family Visit Visa
Pilgrims can perform Umrah on a family visit visa by booking an appointment through the Nusuk platform.
You can get this visa through a relative who lives in Saudi Arabia, if you are a citizen or a resident.
Personal Visit Visa
Saudi Citizens can invite friends to perform Umrah on a personal visit visa. It will be valid for 90 days.
The duration of the stay is 90 days for a single entry visa and one year for a multiple entry visa. With this, pilgrims can also explore historical and cultural sites in the Saudi Kingdom and make tourist trips.
Transit Visit Visa
If you are arriving by plane, you can use the transit visit visa to perform Umrah and visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.
The visa is valid for 90 days, offering a four-day stay in Saudi Arabia. It is issued for free when you buy an airline ticket. You can apply through the electronic platforms of Saudia Airlines or Flynas.
Visa on Arrival
Citizens from specific countries can apply for a visa on arrival. These include the United Kingdom, European Union (EU) countries, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Singapore, South Korea, Brunei, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan.
The youngest independent Umrah performer should be at least 18 years of age.
Their passport must also be valid for at least six months.
You will need to pay visa fees, and have medical insurance that is approved within the Kingdom.
To apply for any of these visas, you can use the visa platform of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
