New Global settings replace China with Russia as “Global Threat” for United States Monitoring Desk: The United States is shifting focus from Europe to China and the situation has already challenged diplomatic settings that had been at place since NATO was formed and this changing scenario would definitely effect Pakistan that hosts flagship project of BRI---the CPEC. These views were shared by experts in a television show “ZOOM IN” of Aik News hosted by Zunaira Azhar with guests such as Ambassador Dr. Naghmana Hashmi who had served in European countries for long before her retirement and Prague-based geopolitical expert Shazia Anwar Cheema. The discussion covered a range of global new settings touching upon the evolving dynamics of global alliances, including the formation of a new coalition among Global South nations aimed at establishing a new world order. Participants were of the view that unipolar world has been challenged by China and European nations are puzzled because they had been completely dependent on the US since NATO was formed. Since US’s target is China and its rising economic power therefore Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the other developmental programs related to it will be targeted by United States. Recently, US President Trump openly humiliated Ukrainian President at Oval Office, raising eyebrows in international diplomacy and causing unease in Europe. The rude treatment of the Ukrainian President by President Trump highlights a significant diplomatic faux pas, which is stirring controversy. The disrespect shown towards the Ukrainian President signifies a troubling trend in Trump’s diplomatic approach because such behavior undermines established protocols and could lead to long-lasting rifts not only between the U.S. and Ukraine but also within European alliances. The way US President Donald Trump and his Vice President JD Vance treated Ukraine President Zelensky in front of the media does not seem without something serious behind the scene. President Trump has done the same thing earlier as well, in fact just now when UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer was visiting there, and before that, he had treated Jordan's King Shah Abdullah in almost the same way. The entire Europe is standing with President Zelensky and on the other side is President Trump, who is carrying out an isolated agenda on the war on Ukraine. Trump’s conduct is not merely a personal opinion but a reflection of a broader strategy that could redefine U.S. foreign policy. This alignment raises significant concerns about U.S. commitments to NATO and its allies, thereby increasing tensions in Eastern Europe. There is a notable shift in international attention from Europe towards China, indicating changes in geopolitical dynamics. The gradual pivot from European focus to China in international relations signifies a tectonic shift in global power dynamics. As Europe grapples with its own crises, China is likely to capitalize on these distractions to expand its influence, consequently reshaping alliances and economic relationships. The Global South’s initiative to form an alliance with a defined agenda indicates a growing discontent with the existing world order dominated by Western powers. This coalition aims to address security, economic frameworks, and connectivity, proposing a more multipolar world that prioritizes the needs and perspectives of developing nations and Pakistan has a pivotal role in this emerging scenario. Donald Trump is standing openly with Russia on the Ukraine issue and wants that Ukraine should not only surrender but also surrender unconditionally and also sign a minerals deal and sign on their terms. Participants in the show discussed what message was sent to Europe through this rough treatment of Ukrainian President and they believed that since two performers were sitting together there is a possibility whether it was a stage because Donald Trump had also done 14 seasons of reality show and President Zelensky had also been a comedian and an actor, so whether it was a stage or not is also a question. Shazia Anwer Cheema was of the view that Ukraine and Europe are not willing to stop the war but US is not ready to pay economic and diplomatic cost of the war and President Trump, has already told the Europeans that they should not take their security for granted. President Trump's focus is more on China while European focus is as always Russia. Participants were of the view that US shift towards China in the form of tariffs and tech war is not in Pakistan’s interest because the burden would increase on Pakistan to navigate safely between the US and China.

Islamabad should respond intervention of US lawmakers in Pakistan’s domestic affairs Islamabad, Pakistan: Two Repu¬blican Congressmen Joe Wilson and August Pfluger have called for US intervention to “restore” democracy in Pakistan and for them the release of former prime minister Imran Khan from jail is restoration of democracy in Pakistan although Khan has been convicted in several cases of corruption. Their letter had their stance that since Imran Khan had been close ties with US administration therefore United States should play its role to take its proxy out of jail. The politicians of ruling party consider this letter; that is actually a part of several letters written by US lawmakers for the release of Imran Khan; as ‘an intervention in domestic affairs of Pakistan’. However, government has never taken these letters ‘objectionable’ at official level and Pakistan’s Foreign Office has not responded to such letters either. Since these letters are glaring example of foreign intervention in Pakistan’s affairs, the Foreign Office should respond to them without further delay. Political circles sometimes call these letters a part of “Operation Goldsmith” but official media avoid to promote this narrative of “Operation Goldsmith”. One can only know through private media that there is some “Operation Goldsmith” against Pakistan. In private discussion ruling politicians claim that Joe Wilson and August Pulger's interference in Pakistan's internal affairs and previous letters written by US and UK lawmakers are funded by Zionist lobby through Goldsmith family as two sons of Khan belong to this powerful Zionist family. Whether government stand behind this narrative of “Operation Goldsmith” or not but there are reasons to believe that all narratives created by the PTI has sure backing of western media and lawmakers who show no concerns over genocide of Palestinian in Gaza but they are very concern about Imran Khan and his court verdicts against him. Interestingly the letter of Wilson and August Pfluger indicate that Imran Khan had been close ties with US administration therefore United States should play its role to take him out of jail and these comments of them are in contradiction with narrative that Imran Khan built in Pakistan. He has been claiming that his government was removed by the US administration. Imran Khan gave the narratives of "we are not slaves" and "absolutely not" to fool his workers, but now from all his actions it seems that he is the real slave and external tool of US deep state. Joe Wilson is known as an activist of the Israeli Public Advocacy Group and his interference in Pakistani affairs can be linked with Zionist Goldsmith family. Everyone knows where the American Israel Public Committee gets its funds from and what its work is? The sole purpose of Wilson and August Pfluger is to target the state of Pakistan, its institutions and important figures. This is not the first time that an American Congressman has attempted to interfere in Pakistan. Congressmen have written letters to Joe Biden before, but they have not even received a response. A letter was also written to the Trump administration, but here too the PTI's "trump card" did not work. Such actions are clearly open interference in the internal affairs of any country. It is also worth noting that Congressmen like Joe Wilson do not have a major position in American politics, nor can their proposals have any clear impact on American foreign policy. PTI and its supporters are exaggerating the statements of irrelevant Congress members like him to give the impression that the US is supporting their narrative, when in reality it is the opposite. The general stance of the US government is to maintain diplomatic relations with Pakistan and not directly interfere in any internal matter. Most importantly, the recent $5 billion aid to Pakistan by the Trump administration is clear evidence that the US is keen to improve its diplomatic relations with Pakistan rather than damaging it.
