Armed forces to react forcefully to every incident of terrorism: Asif

ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that armed forces of the country will give befitting reply to terrorists for their atrocities.

“Armed forces will react forcefully to every incident of terrorism,” the defence minister said in a statement on Thursday.

His remarks came hours after at least 15 militants including foreigners were killed and scores of others injured where air strikes were carried out targeting suspected militant hideouts in three different tehsils of the North Waziristan tribal region.

The defence minister said that the government is serious in holding talks with the Taliban but terrorism and negotiations could not go together. He reiterated that every necessary step will be taken to ensure security of Pakistan and its people.
