Anti-polio drive starts in tribal areas amid tight security

PESHAWAR: In a bid to thwart any untoward incident during the three-day anti-polo campaign which began in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) on Monday, the political administration with the support of security forces has made foolproof security arrangements.

Over 227,000 children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops in Bajaur agency whereas in Khyber agency, over 127,000 children are being administered anti-polio drops by 250 polio teams.

The levies and the khasadar force as well as volunteers of local peace committees are providing security to the polio teams in the agencies.
