The Afghan Taliban destroyed 21,328 musical instruments and 30,000 “immoral films” across Afghanistan last year, according to the Officials of the Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Virtue.

While presenting the one-year report of the Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Virtue at a Press Conference on Tuesday, the Director of Planning and Legislation at the Ministry Mohibullah Mokhlis told that the activities of 25,647 Informational Technology (IT) workers have been suspended due to the distribution of “vulgar movies” that were active in Cities.

Without elaborating on the process, the ministry officials told that they had reformed the broadcast of print, audio, and other media by 90 percent.

The officials also apprised about the seizure of 13,250 psychedelic pills last year, and said that the ministry had also closed 25 shops which sold alcoholic drinks.

In Afghanistan, the ruling Taliban have declared playing, listening and producing music illegal and forbidden throughout the Country.
