ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The fast bowler Muhammad Amir will be seen in action in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) from Chittagong Kings after the bowler has signed a contract with the franchise.

The BPL is scheduled to take place from November 22 to December 5 while the players’ draft will be held on October 26.

A total of 53 Pakistani players including Muhammad Amir and Muhammad Asif are in the line to be picked by various franchises for the tournament. The players’ draft will feature 196 foreign and 122 local cricketers.

The reports said that Muhammad Amir has signed a direct contract with Chittagong Kings.

The star all-rounder Shahid Afridi has already signed a contract with Sylhet while Shoaib Malik has done so with Comilla Victorians.

More Pakistani cricketers including Muhammad Hafeez, Ahmed Shahzad, and Yasir Shah are also engaged in talks with various franchises for direct contacts.

The 23-year-old Muhammad Amir along with Muhammad Asif and Salman Butt were penalized after they were found guilty of being involved in spot fixing during Pakistan-England Test series 2010.

Muhammad Amir was banned from playing competitive cricket for five years by the International Cricket Council (ICC) tribunal on February 5, 2011.

The ICC allowed three players to resume their international cricket career after September 1, 2015 but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to take the players through a rehabilitation programme before they represent their respective domestic sides or even Pakistan in the field of cricket.

Unlike Muhammad Asif and Salman But, Muhammad Amir has already been appearing in PCB-organized domestic matches across the country.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
