India will have to consider peace proposals sooner or later: Nawaz Sharif

On September 20, Sharif addressing the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York proposed four-point formula to defuse tension between Pakistan and India which also included ensuring adherence to 2003 ceasefire agreement and the demilitarization of both parts of Kashmir.

However, Indian rejected the Pakistani premier’s proposals and alleged that Pakistan was sponsoring terror activities in India. New Delhi also asked Islamabad to initiate terror talks first.

Talking to the media persons in London on Saturday, Nawaz Sharif said that he has given concrete proposals with good intent for reduction of tension between Pakistan and India.

The prime minister said that both the countries should adopt a balanced approach as the animosity has only impeded the development process.

Sharif emphatically stated that the proxy war against Pakistan from across the border should come to an end.

Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan has evidence of Indian intelligence agency RAW’s involvement in subversive activities in the country which has been shared with the UN. He said that Pakistan’s stance is being heard on this issue at the international level and it will definitely have its impact.
